MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is a 104-bed acute-care community hospital. Its specialties include bariatric surgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, geriatrics and gastroenterology.

Leaders have: 

• Created a pediatric intensive care unit telehealth initiative during the 2022 surge in respiratory syncytial virus, which improved capacity and boosted nurse and patient experiences. 
• Launched a remote patient monitoring system with cameras and two-way audio in fall-prone wards. The average fall rate per 1,000 patient days halved in the months after implementation.
• Raised more than $3 million in support of an oncology pavilion, aimed at providing patients with access to updated technologies and therapeutics. The pavilion will begin construction this year.
