Kaiser has worked to steer the St. Louis-based, 23-hospital system through the ongoing challenges facing the healthcare industry. With Kaiser at the reins, the organization has implemented cost-cutting initiatives saving $1.1 billion from 2022 to 2024, while still connecting patients to more care through the opening of a second behavioral health urgent care center and a third long-acting injection clinic. SSM this year also launched a pilot program to provide in-home, post-hospital care, as well as an initiative to expand access to leading-edge oncology trials. Kaiser, an American College of Healthcare Executives fellow, serves on several boards outside of SSM Health, including the American Hospital Association, Seton Shrine National Leaders Council and Surround Care. Under her leadership, SSM Health participated in the White House Healthcare Safety Forum and has joined industry peers in social justice action networks.
