IMPACT ACHIEVED: In 2023, The Joint Commission streamlined healthcare accreditation by eliminating over 350 standards, focusing on reducing administrative burden and increasing time at the bedside. It launched eight new programs addressing critical industry issues like health equity, AI and sustainability, including the Healthcare Equity Certification and Telehealth Accreditation over the past year. Globally, Joint Commission International introduced the 8th edition of its accreditation standards and partnered with the Geneva Sustainability Centre to pioneer the first Healthcare Sustainability Certification outside the U.S.
