The initiatives have decreased hospitalization rates by 11%, tripled physician engagement and save costs, according to DaVita. The company manages more than $5 billion in medical costs, with one in three patients part of a value-based care arrangement. To that end, Rodriguez has been instrumental in scaling participation and investment in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Kidney Care Choices Model, through which providers such as dialysis facilities and nephrologists form accountable care organizations. He has also worked to make DaVita an organization of note in Denver, where it has been headquartered for a decade. He serves on the boards of Colorado Thrives and Gilead, among others.
