Adams heads one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems, which includes about 220,000 staff members and nearly 25,000 physicians serving more than 12.5 million members. In December, Risant Health, a nonprofit Kaiser Foundation Hospitals formed with the acquisition of Geisinger in 2023, completed its acquisition of Greensboro, North Carolina-based Cone Health. It is the second health system to join the endeavor designed to accelerate the adoption of value-based care across the country. Adams is committed to employee engagement at Oakland, California-headquartered Kaiser, which has returned to pre-pandemic retention levels. Before taking the helm at Kaiser in 2019, he was executive vice president and group president, responsible for operations in Kaiser Permanente's eight regions. He is also a member of the board of directors for insurance trade group AHIP.
