Dreier oversees Kaiser Permanente’s $25 million initiative that seeks to improve clinical care delivery for gun violence patients and spread solutions nationwide to improve outcomes and lower the cost of services, while also reducing violence. As part of its commitment to combat violence, Oakland, California-based Kaiser Permanente is partnering with the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention, which seeks to provide trauma-informed care and address the social determinants of health for victims of firearm injury. Dreier also serves as executive director of HAVI. The organization has developed a hospital-based violence intervention model of care to treat patients injured by violence that is used in 85 U.S. markets.
