Lovell became chair of Ingham Community Health Centers’ board of directors in October 2020, as the organization was facing the tumult of the COVID-19 pandemic and adapting to the departure of its former executive director. Nearly three years later, the Lansing, Michigan-based federally qualified health center has righted the ship, having opened its 12th facility and expanded its primary care, specialty care and pharmacy footprints. The shift was fueled in part by Lovell’s efforts to form partnerships with organizational stakeholders and her work with newly hired executive director Kris Drake to spearhead a strategic plan that reflects ICHC’s commitment to care. Lovell, who is president of the residential and rehabilitation services company LoveJoy Community Services, has solicited input from the community through several listening sessions about how ICHC can best suit their needs.
