Ron Rittenmeyer
Tenet Healthcare
Rittenmeyer joined Tenet in 2017 as chairman and CEO, but stepped down as CEO in September 2021. In his continuing role as executive chairman, he has helped significantly improve the healthcare system’s financial performance, quadrupling its share price in under five years. And investments in technology and data-driven decision-making have been critical to the company’s response during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, he oversaw the board’s formation of an environmental, social and governance committee and a diversity council to support collective inclusion efforts. He regularly engages with governors and members of Congress to push for public policy solutions and healthcare reform. Following new efforts, the board is now 55% diverse—in terms of ethnic and gender diversity—up from 38% at the beginning of Rittenmeyer’s tenure.
