Megan Shreve
WellSpan Health
Shreve has served in various board roles in the past 12 years and is now in her second year as board chair. In that role she helped navigate WellSpan through a major governance restructure, transitioning 40 boards down to 11. Shreve, who’s CEO of South Central Community Action Programs, ushered in several new governance protocols, including formal annual board goals and the organization’s first board education plan. She implemented a new model to select board members based on expertise, not representation. With a focus on diversity and equity, Shreve recruited more people of color and women to the board and chairs WellSpan’s compensation committee to close pay gaps through analyses. She’s also an ambassador for WellSpan, speaking frequently on behalf of the organization and joining its CEO twice a year at healthcare leadership summits.
