Dr. Holly Humphrey
Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine
Humphrey, who is president of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, joined the medical school’s board of directors in 2016 and was elected chair a year later as the school entered a crucial development phase. Her leadership, extensive medical background and management experience led to a long-term strategy designed to ensure a world-class medical education. With over two decades of medical leadership experience at the University of Chicago—including serving as dean of its medical school—and a deep commitment to diversifying the Kaiser school’s faculty, staff and student body, Humphrey cultivated relationships with numerous industry leaders and oversaw the recruitment of a diverse group of board members. Humphrey also was involved in the medical school’s initial accreditation process, helping to prepare it for site visits and acting as an ambassador.
