Excellence in Governance - 2022

Teiken has been a member of Sanford’s board of trustees since 2011, serving as chair from 2020 to 2021. He helped steer the health system through a governance reset, the first CEO leadership transition in 24 years, the COVID-19 pandemic and a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives. In 2020, Teiken’s efforts to promote inclusion for veteran employees and patients helped Sanford win the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, a recognition given to just 15 organizations among more than 2,500 nominees. Teiken, who is general manager of salesforce at Perficient, oversaw the realignment of Sanford’s community investment fund to support Sanford’s renewed focus on rural health, created board committees and used his expertise in information technology to help fulfill Sanford’s need for digital health systems and build a strong foundation for remote work.
