Jain has led SCAN Group — which includes SCAN Health Plan covering more than 277,000 Medicare Advantage members, medical groups and a community service department — since 2020. In December 2023, Jain decided to sue the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services over changes to its MA star rating program, alleging SCAN lost $250 million in star-related bonus payments. In June of this year, a federal judge sided with SCAN. Following the ruling, the agency announced it had recalculated some star ratings for the 2024 plan year. Beyond the court cases, the organization under Jain’s leadership expanded into New Mexico this year and added to its presence in Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas. Its integrated care delivery organization launched in partnership with the Commonwealth Care Alliance, myPlace Health, also opened its first care center.
