Schlosser, a neurosurgeon, helms Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA Healthcare's Department of Care Transformation and Innovation, created in 2021 to speed integration of technology into patient care. The department under his guidance is piloting the use of generative artificial intelligence and ambient voice recognition technology to reduce the burden of clinical documentation in some emergency departments at HCA, which includes 186 hospitals in 20 states and the United Kingdom. He also is leading implementation of a clinical scheduling and staffing technology that uses machine learning to predict staffing needs and optimize scheduling based on many factors, including staff skills, projected patient volume and staff schedule preferences.
