Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2024

Koh, a physician at the Portland, Oregon-headquartered medical group for more than 20 years, stepped into his current role in 2021. He advocated for the creation of the Kaiser Permanente Center for Black Health and Wellness, which aims to provide effective and culturally responsive care to African Americans. Under his leadership, Northwest Permanente has implemented screening practices and data analysis to address social health needs, decrease hospital use and identify areas of service inequity. The organization also requires all senior physician leaders and administrative staff to undergo anti-racism and anti-bias training.
