Under Perlin’s leadership, The Joint Commission Enterprise, which accredits more than 22,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the U.S., recently added certification programs for equity, sustainability and the responsible use of health data. In March, Perlin announced the creation of The President’s Fellowship for Healthcare Quality and Safety, through which a mid-career healthcare professional will collaborate with the commission for a year.  The next month, The Joint Commission announced an accreditation program for telehealth organizations, followed by the launch of a rural health clinic accreditation program.
