Patel established the first health equity department at the Attleboro, Massachusetts-headquartered system. He drove implementation of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies within the organization, including teaming with Sturdy Health's human resources division to start a committee. He additionally spearheaded population health efforts leading to a 34% reduction in overall uncontrolled diabetes; expanded language access for patients; coordinated medically tailored meal delivery; started a community education campaign; and rolled out screening tools for factors such as housing insecurity, among other projects.
