Klibanski has led the Boston-based health system since 2019. The organization includes Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, specialty hospitals, community hospitals, a health insurance company and other assets. During her tenure, the system has built one of the largest hospital-at-home programs in the country. On the research front, this year physicians at MGB are collaborating with engineers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to explore ways artificial intelligence can be used for earlier detection and treatment of lung cancer. Also, Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas entered a five-year commitment with MGB to innovate at the company's new Life Sciences Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Klibanski previously served as MGB’s chief academic officer and chief of the neuroendocrine unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.
