Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2024

Richmond played a vital role in the formation of Lanham, Maryland-based Luminis Health’s equity and anti-racism task force, which has helped develop strategies such as requiring diverse candidates for all leadership positions. At Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center, where Richmond serves as president, 80% of the C-suite identifies as racially or ethnically diverse. Under her leadership, the hospital is expanding to add inpatient obstetrics services in a bid to address maternal and infant mortality. She has also publicly shared her personal journey fighting colorectal cancer in an effort to promote early detection and fight stigma, especially in the Black community.
