Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2024

Grimes was recruited by Ochsner Health in 2020 to lead their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts after a 34-year career at University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is leading a metrics-driven campaign to address diversity in leadership at the New Orleans-based system, including quantifiable targets for representation and a year-long advisory program geared toward helping advance employees. During her tenure, Ochsner struck partnerships with two universities aimed at combating health disparities and widening access to care. She also continues to serve at UAB as a mentor.
