Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2024

Newman brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership to her current role at Charlotte, North Carolina-headquartered Advocate. In the past year, she integrated several functions into a unified division, allowing for a more streamlined focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. She also led several programs aimed at fostering workforce development, including the Executive in Residence project pairing mid-career employees with community partners and an education assistance program for aspiring registered nurses. Newman additionally spearheaded an action raising more than $7.6 million for community partners and took charge of creating a first-ever community benefit report.
