Ann Mond Johnson
CEO, American Telemedicine Association
As ATA’s leader since 2018, Johnson has been passionate about the association’s mission to help improve the adoption and delivery of telemedicine across the U.S. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, policymakers and regulators enacted many flexibilities enabling virtual care to expand at an unprecedented pace. The ATA under Johnson’s leadership has been pushing for many of them to remain permanent. This year, the association — which includes more than 400 organizations— announced the launch of a political action commitee aimed at influencing virtual care policy. It also created two special interest groups: one to promote the expansion of telehealth for infants, children and adolescents, and one to push forward the telehealth and virtual care fields through research. Before coming to the ATA, Johnson was CEO of Zest Health.
