Brewer has served as CEO at the Deerfield, Illinois based pharmacy chain since 2021. During that time, the company has continued its expansion into healthcare, including through a $5.2 billion investment in primary care company VillageMD and the full acquisitions of Shields Health Solutions and post-acute care company CareCentrix. Brewer has worked to further diversity, equity and inclusion at Walgreens, including through partnerships to increase access to services for vulnerable groups. She chairs the board of trustees for Spelman College.
