Shannon was named CEO of the Minneapolis-based health system in 2022 after working as its president and chief operating officer for several years. Under her leadership, the organization united 12 independent hospital and service line foundations into the Allina Health Foundation, aimed at streamlining philanthropic support for mental health, addiction and cancer services. She has worked to improve outreach to underserved communities and to expand Allina’s hospital-at-home and skilled nursing-at-home programs. She also spearheaded Allina’s Whole Way to Better campaign.
