Top Organizations for Diversity - 2023

MedStar Health comprises 10 hospitals and more than 300 other care sites, serving Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Under board and executive leadership, MedStar Health has:

• Launched a mandatory training module, “The Foundations of EI&D,” for all associates to enhance awareness of the organization’s strategic focus on equity, inclusion and diversity efforts.
• Rolled out a three-hour “Disrupting Everyday Bias” workshop for all leaders through the director level. 
• Created 15 equity, inclusion and diversity councils across all entities, which serve as local change agents, responsible for identifying site-specific priorities and opportunities for improvement on DEI issues.
