The pediatric health system includes two hospitals, nine primary-care clinics, seven rehabilitation sites, nine specialty care sites and a Level I trauma center.
Under board and executive leadership, Children’s Minnesota has:
- Developed nursing recruitment programs with historically Black colleges and universities, including Howard University and Florida A&M University.
- Partnered with the United Health Foundation on a three-year, $3 million grant to address pediatric disparities related to asthma, vaccinations and mental health for underserved children and families in the Twin Cities area.
- Pioneered a simulation training course titled “The Role of Bias in De-escalation,” which puts healthcare providers face-to-face with live actors portraying parents of kids in high-stress medical situations.
