Dr. Tadashi Funahashi

Funahashi leads physicians, data scientists and engineers that work with innovation-focused teams across the organization. He spearheaded the development of an in-home cardiac rehab program; a 2022 study found that participants had lower rates of hospitalization when compared with those in center-based programs. Funahashi also chaired the Inter-Regional Implant Registries Committee, which helped guide efforts to track the safety and outcomes of the system’s medical devices. He has served as a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at University of California Irvine College of Medicine and authored more than 60 papers, with credits in publications including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
