Chen led data science at Jvion before population health management vendor Lightbeam acquired the company last year. Along with her team, Chen has developed predictive models that use social determinants of health data to forecast readmissions and avoidable emergency department visits, among other capabilities. Her work was instrumental in the development and release of Radian, a free toolkit to help organizations develop strategies for improving health equity and addressing disparities. To date, more than 450 companies of all sizes have used the toolkit. Meanwhile, Chen has led the effort to integrate her team’s models with Lightbeam’s other technology products.
