Heather O'Sullivan
President of healthcare at home, Mass General Brigham
O’Sullivan is spearheading Mass General Brigham’s innovative approach to bringing quality care to eligible patients beyond hospital walls. She leads the health system’s home hospital program, which provides care for patients with infections, congestive heart failure and other urgent health issues. Under O’Sullivan’s leadership, the program offers services for the equivalent of 30 beds per day, with capacity set to more than double by the end of 2023. According to the organization, the program has improved quality outcomes, reduced emergency department utilization, lowered patient length of stay in brick-and-mortar facilities and bolstered employee satisfaction. It has also opened bed space during critical times, such as COVID-19 surges.
