Kao was instrumental in the launch of the joint venture Allina Health | Aetna, a company created to combine the two organizations’ strengths. In her role, Kao has implemented and advanced several programs to more seamlessly coordinate services for Allina Health | Aetna members. She has advocated for the Allina Health system to handle care management functions, which are typically an insurer responsibility, and supported the rollout of the Complex Care for Seniors and Hospital at Home programs. She is also co-leading the implementation of Cedar, a virtual patient payment and engagement platform that aims to streamline the billing process.
