James Taylor
Chief diversity, inclusion and talent management officer, UPMC
Under Taylor’s leadership, the number of people of color in executive roles at UPMC nearly doubled between 2016 and 2021. Building on that accomplishment, he recently set goals to increase UPMC’s representation of women and people of color in service worker, professional, technician, mid-level management and executive job categories to mirror or exceed regional labor data for the healthcare and social assistance sector by 2026. He also developed the UPMC Scholars program in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, offering tuition-free education and a three-year employment opportunity at UPMC for people of color.
