Harris has implemented inclusive training for nearly 1,700 leaders across the system. She also spearheaded the creation of a curriculum available to all employees covering topics such as unconscious bias, creating an inclusive environment, psychological safety and allyship. Harris serves as executive director of the new Memorial Hermann Institute for the Advancement of Health Equity, which aims to address health inequities in the Houston area. In addition, she is leading a study with the University of Houston to explore artificial intelligence approaches to improving the use of electronic health records.
