Since joining Queen’s in early 2022, Andrade created two departments—one for diversity, equity, inclusion and justice and one for caregiver wellness—to collaborate on increasing workforce diversity and making the health system a great place to work. With the goals of recruiting Native Hawaiians and improving the provision of culturally responsive care, Andrade partnered with the system’s human resources department to recruit a workforce development coordinator, grow a pipeline to address the employee shortage, and provide staff education.
