Dr. Rod Hochman
President and CEO, Providence
At the helm of Providence since 2013, Hochman oversees a system of 51 hospitals and about 1,000 clinics across seven states. Along with diversifying the health system’s revenue streams, he is focused on mitigating burnout among healthcare workers. Providence’s No One Cares Alone program, staffed by licensed behavioral health providers and aimed at the organization’s caregivers, has introduced self-directed assessments that generated a 302% increase in wellness activity participation in 2022. Hochman also supported a pilot of a virtual nursing initiative that is now being expanded to 10 hospitals. Hochman oversees Providence’s Vote for Health campaign, which helps caregivers register to vote and educates them about measures on the ballots in communities where Providence operates. He sits on the board of directors of GE HealthCare and the advisory board of the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics at the University of Southern California.
