Ozuah was named CEO of Montefiore Medicine, the umbrella organization for the 10-hospital Montefiore Health System and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in 2019. In July, the health system’s Bronx Health Collective, along with the Mama Glow Foundation focusing on reproductive health advocacy, received a $2 million federal grant to improve treatment options for birthing people at South Bronx clinics. Earlier in the year, Montefiore received a $100 million contribution to Albert Einstein College of Medicine—in a gift Ozuah called “transformational”—which will support biomedical research and direct financial assistance for students. Before ascending to CEO, Ozuah was president of Montefiore and physician-in-chief of the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. In 2023, he joined the Cigna Group’s board of directors.
