President and CEO, Ardent Health Services
Bonick leads the for-profit system, based in Brentwood, Tennessee, that owns and operates 30 hospitals in six states. He has spoken about the need for legacy healthcare systems to disrupt the sector themselves, rather than wait for others to do the disrupting. Ardent introduced virtual nurses to help with emergency department intake in 2022 and, after a successful pilot at one of its campuses, the health system this year partnered with an artificial intelligence-enabled care coordination provider to expand the technology to additional facilities. Before joining Ardent in 2020, Bonick was CEO of PhyMed Healthcare Group, a provider of anesthesia and pain management services, and before that, a division president at Community Health Systems. He is an advisory board member for Via College of Medicine-Auburn.
