Dr. Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo
Editor in chief, Journal of the American Medical Association and JAMA Network
Bibbins-Domingo, a general internist and cardiovascular disease epidemiologist, has helmed the widely circulated JAMA and JAMA Network—which includes 11 specialty journals—since 2022. Earlier this year, she oversaw the relaunch of JAMA Express, which provides expedited review and processing of certain manuscripts so that accepted articles can receive online-first publication within four weeks of submission. Bibbins-Domingo, an endowed professor of medicine and professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, previously was the school’s vice dean for population health and health equity. She co-founded the UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, which conducts research to increase health equity and reduce health disparities.
