Pullin has advanced five-hospital Virtua’s efforts to expand access to care, with an eye toward getting services closer to where people live and work. Under his leadership, the Marlton, New Jersey-based academic health system and a development partner broke ground in November on an affordable-housing and healthcare project in Camden, New Jersey. Virtua will operate a medical practice on the first floor; upper floors will contain apartments for low-income older adults, including five units set aside for unhoused individuals. In 2022, the system launched a hospital-at-home program at one facility, expanding it to all five by year’s end. Pullin joined Virtua in 2017 from MedStar Health, where he was senior vice president of the system and president of MedStar Harbor Hospital and, before that, a top executive at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is a member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
