Bruce Broussard
President and CEO, Humana
Broussard has led the health insurance giant for a decade. During his tenure, the company leaned into the Medicare Advantage business, becoming the second-largest carrier by membership. In 2023, the company announced it will phase out its fully insured, self-funded and other commercial plans by 2025, in part to focus on the Medicare Advantage market. Humana is also putting more resources toward primary care, delivering services through about 250 senior primary care centers around the country. In August, the company said its CenterWell Senior Primary Care business will offer services in patients’ homes in some locations. Broussard is a member of the Business Roundtable, the American Heart Association’s CEO Roundtable and the board of America’s Health Insurance Plans. This year, Broussard announced he will exit the Humana C-suite in 2024 and stay on as a strategic adviser until 2025.
