Regina Cunningham
CEO, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
Since being named CEO of the flagship hospital in 2017, Cunningham has led it through the opening of the Pavilion, a 1.5 million-square-foot facility housing 504 private patient rooms and 47 operating rooms as part of its expanded footprint. She is also assistant dean for clinical practice and an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. In 2022, she was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in recognition of her work in quality, health equity and clinician well-being. She spent four years as chief nursing executive at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and in 2014 was inducted as an American Academy of Nursing fellow.
