After serving as chief medical officer for Rush University Medical Center for four years, Lateef—a healthcare quality expert—became its president and CEO in 2019 and was named president of the system in 2021. He took on the system’s CEO role in 2022. Earlier this year, Rush announced a partnership with CVS Health to participate in the retail giant’s first accountable care organization, through which providers at eligible Chicago-area CVS MinuteClinic sites can connect Medicare beneficiaries to Rush clinicians for follow-up primary and specialty care.
