DeSalvo, an internist, leads the team guiding Google’s health-related research, products and services. The company recently partnered with ThroughLine, a verified network of mental health and crisis helplines, to increase the visibility of global resources. The company also announced its plan to make more data from Fitbit’s Health Metrics Dashboard feature, which displays information about breathing rate, skin temperature, blood oxygen and more, available to users without a subscription. Before joining Google in 2019, DeSalvo served during the Obama administration as national coordinator for health information technology and acting assistant secretary for health.
