Conroy is working to call attention to the dire financial situation faced by rural healthcare organizations. Last year, Dartmouth Health teamed with community partners to create the Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity, which aims to identify and address persistent health disparities among New England communities. Dartmouth Health in March announced it had received an $11.6 million National Institutes of Health grant to fund a new Center for Rural Health Care Delivery Science, geared toward furthering research to improve healthcare delivery in a rural setting. In 2024, Conroy will become board chair for the American Hospital Association.
