Morris’ 20 years of experience in operations, planning and patient care guide her in leading MD Anderson’s inpatient and outpatient operations. Morris, a registered nurse, previously was president of Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, chief operating officer for a health system and a chief nursing officer. Following the death of a 23-year-old leukemia patient from a contaminated blood transfusion at MD Anderson, Morris led the call for improved adverse event reporting and blood transfusion safeguards and education.
