Compton-Phillips is an internist who directs care provided through 51 hospitals and 1,000-plus other care sites in a $25 billion health system. Previously, she was executive vice president and chief clinical officer for Providence-St. Joseph Health, engineering innovations in care access, physician partnerships and workforce. As chief quality officer at Kaiser Permanente, she focused on clinical outcomes, care affordability and patient-driven design. At Providence, she also led the treatment of the first confirmed COVID-19 patient in the U.S.
