Top Organizations for Diversity - 2022

Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, the nation’s largest Catholic health system, operates 142 hospitals and nearly 2,200 other care sites across 21 states.

Under board and executive leadership, CommonSpirit Health has:

• Established an Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging as a mission-critical part of the office of the CEO, amplifying the health system’s foundational values of excellence, inclusion, compassion, integrity and collaboration.
• Entered into the More in Common Alliance, a 10-year, $100 million partnership that will increase development of physicians of color by ensuring a minimum of 300 additional underrepresented providers complete their residency training.
• In 2021, in partnership with Dignity Health Global Education, launched the CommonSpirit Equity Impact Scholarship, a $3 million program to create opportunities that support more diverse leadership in healthcare.
