Staci Hermann
Chief pharmacy officer, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health
Hermann has authority over Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s drug budget, retail and specialty pharmacy services, inpatient and infusion services, pharmaceutical contracts, system pharmacy operations and clinical integration. As part of her focus on centralization, Hermann organized and leads a systemwide Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, which aligns the inpatient formulary across all hospitals in the system, helping to maximize contract compliance and leverage purchasing volume when negotiating contracts. Under this approach, the health system recently was able to identify an agent that cost $750,000 annually, replacing it with another more cost-effective but equally effective option. She also routinely participates in reviews of the pharmaceutical spending for the system’s health plan to help identify savings opportunities.
