Patel is also the division president, Pacific Northwest, of CommonSpirit Health. Under his leadership, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health has supported compassionate care for LGBTQ individuals; targeted outreach to vulnerable communities; secured a $436,000 grant to promote food security in the region; and proactively addressed management of chronic disease. The organization is building a diverse team of clinicians, along with expanding population health programs and implementing social determinants of health screenings. Patel serves on CommonSpirit’s DEI Committee, Executive Diversity Leadership Council and Homelessness Task Force.
