Smith-Hill has been at the forefront of developing and implementing SSM Health’s diversity and inclusion guiding principles across its four-state network. Under her leadership, SSM Health has established training programs, including through partnerships with racially and ethnically diverse institutions, aimed at cultivating a robust employee pipeline. Such programs have resulted in a 9.4% increase in representation of people of color among SSM Health’s leaders and professionals. Meanwhile, employee engagement efforts have led to a 29% decrease in voluntary turnover for racially diverse team members, from the third quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022.
