Dr. Ngozi Ezike
President and CEO, Sinai Chicago
Ezike was the first Black woman appointed to lead the Illinois Department of Public Health, where she advised Gov. J.B. Pritzker and kept state residents informed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ezike has dedicated her career to addressing the needs of underserved people, including as the former medical director at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center and as the Austin Health Center medical director. In 2022, she accepted a new role leading Sinai Chicago, which places a strong priority on providing culturally sensitive care to its patients and working to ensure limited economic opportunities do not lead to limited lifespans.
