Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare - 2022

Since Hildreth began serving as Meharry Medical College’s president and CEO in 2015, the historically Black academic health center has continued to work toward diversifying the medical industry. Hildreth selects each of Meharry’s partnerships, including recent efforts to improve equity in organ donation and transplantation and to create programs addressing the root causes of disparities in health and education. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Meharry under Hildreth’s leadership managed a local comprehensive testing system and the administration of COVID-19 vaccines, helping to protect Nashville’s vulnerable communities. It also donated a portion of its CARES Act funds directly to students.
